About Hilal
school was established by the Grama Sabha in 1920 with just one teacher and 20 students. It was officially registered as a government school in the same year. Until 1948, the school was managed by a single teacher. By 1966, the number of teachers increased to three. Among these dedicated educators, Mr. S. Selvathurai and Mr. M. Raja Durai remain fondly remembered by the community.
PL/Al-Hilal C.C is a well-known Tamil medium Muslim mixed-educational establishment in the Polonnaruwa Zone, providing secondary education. At present, the school is under the administration of Principal Mr. M.I.M. Kabeer, supported by Deputy Principals, Mrs. A. Ansia, and Mr. A.A. Razak.
